Why Take a Cruise Vacation?

Have you considered taking a cruise vacation but just aren’t sure if it would be right for you? With all the cruise lines available, all the cruise destinations, the range of prices, there is a cruise for just about everyone.

Do you commute to work every day, sitting in traffic for perhaps hours? Think about it, on a cruise you don’t drive anywhere for 7, 10, 14 days or more. Now, even if you were on a bus tour with no driving yourself, you haul your luggage or at least pack and unpack it at each stop. On a cruise, you check your luggage when you check in and it magically appears in your cabin, stateroom, or suite. You unpack once, feeling at home for the duration of the cruise. The cruise staff will tell you when to place your bags outside your accommodations at the end of the cruise and, just a magically, your luggage will be waiting for you on shore at a designated pick-up point. Taking a cruise vacation frees you from some of the hassles of traveling.

If you take a driving vacation, there’s always the question of where to stop to eat. All meals are included in the price of your cruise and great food is one of the main attractions of taking a cruise. Most contemporary cruises take into account the modern casual lifestyle and provide a variety of restaurants and snack bars on board. Typically, there is a varied and plentiful breakfast and lunch buffet similar to what you find in Las Vegas. Or you can eat breakfast or lunch in one of the ship’s restaurants, ordering exactly what you want from the ample menu, prepared fresh for you. Restaurants are usually open for meals for extended hours and buffets are generally open all day and into the night. Have you heard of the midnight buffet available on some cruises?

Dinner is an important event on a cruise ship, a tradition dating back to the late 1800’s when cruises were for royalty and the wealthy who expected elegant formal dinners. Again, in today’s lifestyle the elegant dinner is optional, and for those who prefer to dine casually, the dinner buffet is available usually until 9 pm. Most cruise ships offer excellent cuisine, especially at dinner, in the main dining room or rooms plus offer meals at upscale specialty restaurants at additional cost. Cruise lines base much of their reputation on their food service, and terms such as “world class cuisine” and “gourmet meals” are combined with “impeccable service” to insure that the onboard dining experience is truly memorable. Many cruises still offer one or more optional formal dinners where ladies where long formal gowns or other evening dresses and gentlemen wear tuxedos or dark suits.

Once onboard your cruise vessel, there are activities 24 hours a day. Modern cruise ships boast state-of-the-art 700 plus seat theatres for quality shows and entertainment, all included in the cruise price. There is unique entertainment in the …

Discount Travel Deals Info – Ways to Find Budget Airfare and Hotel Rooms for Your Next Trip

If you feel the need to get away for a few days, you’re probably looking for discount travel deals. Whether you want a simple weekend getaway or an all-out vacation, there are a variety of tools and travel promo codes available to help. No matter where you want to go, it’s best to stay flexible with your plans. If you have a specific destination and dates in mind, your search might be a bit more difficult – especially if it’s tourist season in that location.

One way to get a good deal is to look over “undercover hotel” offers. The prices are so low that the hotels don’t want to advertise the offers outright; you won’t find out the name of the hotel until after the booking. While this may seem like a gamble, many top-name hotels like Marriott, Hilton, and Sheraton are involved with these offers. You can usually view some information about the neighborhood the hotel is located in and the types of amenities it offers before you decide whether or not you want to book.

Another way to obtain discount travel deals is to use budget airlines. More and more budget carriers are offering long haul trips – some of which are even offering flights to other countries. WOW and Norwegian Air are two airlines to look into if you want to fly internationally. For domestic flights, consider Jet Blue or Allegiant Air.

Flying direct might not always be the answer, either. Sure, you might get to your destination a lot faster, but you might end up paying a lot more. It might be a lot cheaper to book a flight to another city first, and then book a separate flight from that city to your intended destination.

Warnings for Discount Travel Deals

Watch out for airfare that seems TOO low. You might wind up getting hit by a bunch of hidden fees. Some smaller airlines charge extra for onboard drinks and snacks – including water. You might also get charged for a carry-on bag. Be sure to read over the fine print to determine if you really will be getting a good deal.

You can save money if you book with a hotel and airline that are partners with each other. On travel booking sites, there is usually an option to combine your flight and your hotel room. There are also memberships and loyalty points to consider. If you’re an American Airlines AAdvantage member, for instance, you can earn points for staying at hotels such as Best Western, Hilton, Marriott, La Quinta Inn, etc. Convert those points into free air miles. There are many, many opportunities like these. Some credit card companies also reward points that can be redeemed for airfare or free hotel rooms.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see any discount travel deals right away – sometimes it takes just a bit of patience. The perfect offer will eventually pop up.

Online, you can find all of the information you need about discount …

Why Choose a Honeymoon Cruise Vacation?

Planning your dream honeymoon? The world is your oyster – Bali, Barbados, a Greek island or maybe a honeymoon cruise vacation? Cruises are increasingly popular for anniversaries, weddings and they make a dream honeymoon cruise vacation. Here are a few reasons why a honeymoon cruise vacation beats a traditional hotel honeymoon every time.

Easy to Book Booking a honeymoon cruise trip is a very easy process. Simply browse the many destination options for your dates and press BOOK! It really is that easy. Optional pre- and post-cruise packages will include airfares, hotels and transfers. No holding hotel bookings whilst looking for suitable flights, no car hire to arrange and no transfers to worry about. A honeymoon cruise vacation package takes care of everything – cabin, transport and meals all-in-one. If only planning the wedding were so straightforward!

Great Winter Destinations Choices of where to enjoy a honeymoon in the winter can be limited, but cruise ships relocate to offer a honeymoon cruise in the sunshine at any time of year. In the winter, they are mainly based around the Caribbean, Hawaii and the Southern hemisphere. In the summer they cross the Atlantic and cruise the Mediterranean, Scandinavia and Alaska. A honeymoon cruise vacation should be about relaxing in the sun, so book with confidence.

Extras Let the cruise company know that it is your honeymoon cruise vacation. Most ships offer a few goodwill extras for those on a honeymoon cruise vacation. Tables for two, complimentary champagne and chocolates and even a honeymooners’ cocktail party may be on offer. Some cruise lines have honeymoon packages for a small supplement which include engraved glasses, flowers, a wedding cake and plenty of other nice surprises.

Privacy You may think that joining 2000 other cruisers will not allow much privacy for your honeymoon cruise vacation but the opposite is actually true. Enjoy room service in your cabin at any time of day or night – without a nasty surcharge. Fruit platters, cheese platters, drinks, light snacks and breakfast in bed are all just a phone call away. Ignore the organized shore excursions, take a taxi into town and explore each port of call hand-in-hand. Alternatively, ask the taxi driver to take you to the nearest quiet beach – and arrange for him to pick you up later! Most cruises have alternative dining for a supplement and these exclusive restaurants offer candlelit dinners, attentive waiter service and a romantic environment to make your honeymoon really special.

Entertainment Life onboard a cruise ship is never dull. Sit in a cozy nook and be serenaded by a professional pianist, dance cheek-to-cheek, enjoy an off-Broadway show, head for the casino and try your luck, or step out in the warm night air and cuddle beneath the stars. Best of all, at the end of the evening your cabin is just a stroll away. No calling a taxi or driving a hire car in a strange place. With a honeymoon cruise vacation, everything is taken care of perfectly.…

Why You Should Plan Your Ski Vacation Early

The country may yet to see snowy slopes and winter flurries, but savvy skiers and families are already planning out their next ski vacation. Sure, there are only a handful of US ski resorts open, and most of them are already offering a whole new set of attractions that doesn’t involve making snow angels.

But making arrangements this early do have a couple perks. To name a few:

Beating the rush

Imagine having to book your ski trip at the last minute, and you’re halfway down the road only to realize you left behind your skis! Or how about taking a chance on budget accommodations that look good on paper (or on the web) then arriving only to get disappointed? This happens when you plan your holidays on panic mode (Read: less than a month before peak season). When you plan your getaway early, you still have enough time in your hands to research on the best accommodations and create an itinerary everyone can agree upon. It also allows you to plan out your wardrobe and decide what gears you’ll need.

The early bird scores the best accommodations

When you book your vacation early, you get first dibs on prime chalets, apartments or hotel rooms. You can even request a room just a stone’s throw away from the slopes! Booking early also means you get to pick your flight schedules, slots in daycare and ski schools for your kids, and the best table at your favorite restaurant.

And big discounts, too!

Many ski resorts offer a slew of early bird incentives for those who plan way ahead. Enjoy huge savings on lodging, airfare, bulk ski passes and lift tickets when you book way ahead of the others.

Come peak season or early ski season and prices start ballooning to premium rates.

Flexible payment terms

On top of discounts, ski resorts, too, may offer early bookers down payment options on ski passes and other fees. For instance, you can pay half of the price now then pay the remainder by September. This allows you to save up for the getaway you and your family have been dreaming of since the end of season, without accruing debts and credit card interest charges.

You can always take a chance on finding last minute bargains. But you could miss out on a lot of advanced reservation promotions that could save a great deal! And while planning out your winter getaway while everyone else is set to hit the beach and get a tan may strike others as odd, you’ll be treating yourself to a well thought off ski vacation you and your whole family will certainly cherish and enjoy.…

The Top 3 Pet-Friendly Hotel Chains In The USA

There’s a growing trend in pet-friendly hotels and they are appearing all over the USA. However, there are 3 hotel chains that go beyond just accepting pets. They welcome them with open paws and they have thought of a variety of creative ways of making both you and your pet feel incredibly pampered.

#1: Kimpton Hotels

Kimpton Hotels have no weight restrictions, no number of pet restrictions and no type of pet restrictions. They don’t even charge an extra fee. They really are the most accepting and welcoming pet-friendly chain. If you don’t have your own animal they will kindly provide you with a goldfish to keep you company for the duration of your stay.

The major Kimpton Hotels have a canine Director of Pet Relations who will welcome your pet on arrival. They will also provide you with food bowls, water bowls and pet beds. There are extra packages available, such as pet massages, gourmet treats, chew toys, cat scratching posts, and they offer pet services, such as pet-sitting and dog-walking. Pets are also invited to attend the complimentary wine hour.

#2: Indigo Hotels

Many of the Indigo Hotels will call you prior to your arrival to see if they can enhance your stay beyond your expectations. On arrival you will receive a dog goody basket. Hotel Indigo, Downtown Asheville, even provide custom dog treats with your pet’s name on.

They will also provide you with bowls, beds, toys and complimentary scoop bags. My favorite feature of their pet-friendly program are their canine cocktail parties, known as Yappy Hour. Guests, their four-legged friend and locals mingle over cocktails, and part of the money raised goes to the local animal shelter.

Indigo Hotels do have some weight restrictions in place, which differ between the individual hotels, and they also charge a one-off fee, which ranges between $40-$75.

#3: Loews Hotels

On arrival you will receive a welcome package that includes treats, a golden pet tag, bowls, scoop bags and vouchers for local pet-friendly establishments. In your room you will find comforts, such as beds, litter trays, scratching posts, rawhide bones and even pet DVDs. They also offer pet services, such as pet-sitting and pet-walking.

Loews Hotels endeavor to wait on you paw and foot, and they have room service menus that have been especially created for pets by their award-winning chef. If your pet is the adventurous type then you can head over to Loews Hotel, San Diego, where they hold dog surfing competitions. If your dog would rather spend then day being pampered then visit Loews Hotels, St Pete Beach, where they offer a professional canine therapeutic service.

All pets are welcome and they have a one-off fee, which is normally between $25-$35.…

How to Pack For a Long Vacation

As someone who has traveled extensively all over the world, I know how to pack. I am not someone who can throw two outfits in a backpack and hop on a plane for Europe but I’m also not someone who likes carrying luggage around, even if it’s on wheels. I have gone on 12 day cruises, 2 week long European vacations, and a 3 week trip to Australia and New Zealand. I will do laundry on vacation if it’s necessary but it’s not something I like to do when I’m supposed to be having a good time.

Therefore, I learned some tips for how to travel fairly lightly yet take enough clothes for a two week or longer vacation.

1. My first suggestion is to make a travel list on your computer and save it. When you travel, you just need to pull it up and adjust it for the current vacation.

2. The second thing to do is get a good suitcase (assuming you are checking one bag) and a good carry-on. I recommend using a basic pullman style suitcase in a medium price range such as Atlantic. I suggest a color other than black, because there are so many black suitcases. Don’t get one much bigger than a carry-on because if you do you will exceed the weight limit.

For a carry-on I really like an all-in-one rolling suitcase and backpack such as the Sierra Carry-on Rolled Backpack. It can be taken apart into a small suitcase and daypack if necessary or it can be zipped together and thrown on your back when you need to catch a flight.

Make sure you purchase luggage that can all be hooked together and rolled if necessary.

3. When traveling internationally, I read years ago that there are ways people in other countries tell who the American tourists are by the following:

• White tennis shoes, especially if both in a couple wear them

• Matching outfits such as “jogging suits” or color-coordinated department store ensembles

• Fanny packs

• Shorts are rarely worn in many cities around the world. I was in Paris in July. It was a holiday (Bastille Day) and I saw no shorts the entire week.

4. Put together a travel wardrobe based upon two neutrals plus one bright color. I like to pack black and tan/khaki clothes plus a few pieces of another color such as red. I used to try to pack all black clothes but I would get too bored with the lack of variety and end up buying clothes in my destination. However, I do recommend taking clothes in which every top matches every bottom. This allows for endless combinations.

5. I pack so that 90% of what I packed could be washed out in the sink and hung to dry if necessary. That means no-iron light-weight polyester blend clothing for travel. If you want to spend a lot of money and plan to do extensive traveling, you can purchase clothing from a …

Beverly Hills Hotels Guide – An Overview of the Top Luxury Hotels and Budget Accommodation

Despite its reputation as being an upper class area with designer shops and multi-million dollar homes, Beverly Hills doesn’t have to be an expensive place to visit. There is a nice variety of Beverly Hills hotels located near all of the shops and restaurants.

The neighborhood is located approximately nine miles west from downtown LA. There are both public and private transportation options from LAX and downtown Los Angeles to Beverly Hills. You can take a bus, Uber, taxi, or even the subway. There is always the option to rent your own vehicle as well, although a lot of travelers don’t like driving around Southern California.

It’s recommended that you wait until autumn to visit this destination when the weather is cooler and the volume of tourists is down.

Budget accommodation includes Hotel Beverly terrace, which provides guests with free Wi-Fi and breakfast. Hotel Del Flores is located in the heart of the neighborhood and is a short distance away from Museum of Tolerance and UCLA. This is a historic hotel built in 1928.

Speaking of which, there are a number of historic Beverly Hills hotels. The Sunset Tower Hotel, previously known as The Argyle and the St. James Club, has been a historic site on the Sunset Strip since 1931. It’s a fine example of the Art Deco architecture of its time and worth staying in if you can afford the rate.

Another historic, luxurious Art Deco hotel is The Beverly Hills Hotel. Since it opened in 1928, the staff has been treating guests like royalty. It is also conveniently located within walking distance to popular shops.

Beverly Hills Hotels for Kids

Traveling with your kids? Looking for a family-friendly resort? There are quite a few available, including Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel, Hotel Beverly Terrace, The Crescent, Maison 140, The Beverly Hilton, The Mosaic Hotel, and several others.

If you want seclusion, then you can get all the privacy you want at the Viceroy L’Ermitage. Staying at this property will give you the feeling of being in a private residence with all of the amenities you can expect of a modern, luxury hotel. Why not stay at a rooftop cabana? There is complimentary car service (in fancy sports cars).

If price is a concern, take advantage of Beverly Hills hotels discounts. Sometimes you can find them online when booking your trip through a travel website. Just wait until a great deal pops up. Flexibility and patience are essential when it comes to saving money on a SO-CAL vacation.

Begin your search for budget travel by looking over online promotional codes and using the site to help you plan your trip. All you have to do is use the search tool to find and compare hotel rates. If you have Beverly Hills hotels coupons, make sure they’re valid before booking your trip.…
